Book, Item Loan and request
Loan items to approved institutions
We have various cultural items available for loan. A maximum of two items may be borrowed for up to two weeks at a time. Shipping cost is subject to discussion in advance.

Library
Our library holds approximately 1,000 volumes and is open to the public. Publications in English and/or Japanese include current and back issues of government publications, as well as books on history, economics, politics, education, art and culture.
If you are borrowing books for the first time, please bring your ID and a proof of address (not a PO Box), such as a utility bill or a council letter, so we can issue you a library card.
*Please be advised, the library is only available for use by those living in the Wellington region.*
Rules:
- You may borrow two books at one time for a period of two weeks.
- Lost or damaged books must be replaced at lender’s expense.
- Please notify us of change of address.
- Books can be renewed once by emailing us at jicc@wl.mofa.go.jp. Please come to the window for subsequent renewals. Please note that we may also request that items be returned rather than renewed further, in order to ensure fair access for all patrons.
- Please contact us as soon as possible regarding damage, lost books or due date extensions.
貸出規則
- 一度に貸出できる本は二冊まで、貸出期間は二週間です。
- 紛失または破損した本は、利用者ご自身の負担で弁償していただきます。
- 住所変更の際は必ずご連絡ください。
- 貸出期間の延長は、メールで一回まで可能です。ご希望の際はjicc@wl.mofa.go.jpまでご連絡ください。二回目以降の更新については、窓口にお越しください。公平な利用のため、場合によっては更新をお断りし、返却をお願いすることがありますのでご了承ください。
- 破損・紛失、または返却期限の延長が必要な場合は、できるだけ早くご連絡ください。

For requests to use the space for Japanese cultural activities, please complete the Space Usage Application Form below and email it to us in advance.
