JLPT Japanese Language Proficiency Test in Christchurch

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is designed to meet the needs of Japanese language students who wish to test their skill level against the worldwide criteria. In this way, it is hoped the JLPT will stimulate interest in furthering Japanese studies.
 

Test date: Sunday 4 December 2022

Venue: Ara Institute of Canterbury, Madras Street, Christchurch
The test will also be conducted in Auckland and Wellington on the same date.

Applications open:

Monday 8 August to Wednesday 31 August 2022
Examinees who require special testing accommodations for disabilities must complete their applications by Friday 9 September 2022. 

Fees:

A test fee must be paid when submitting your application.
The fees for each level are as follows:
N1: $75.00N2: $70.00N3: $65.00N4: $60.00N5: $55.00

The test fee is non-refundable and the test date and site cannot be changed. However, if the test is cancelled due to COVID-19 or other reasons, the test fee will be refunded.

*Examinees who wish to have their test result sent overseas must pay an additional NZ$30 to cover overseas courier costs. The postage fee will be asked for when the result is sent.

Applications:

Each examinee can take ONE LEVEL only on the test day.
Any person wishing to enroll for the test should forward a completed application form (two identical photographs are required). Please refer below how to fill in the form.

Payment by EFTPOS or Cheque is not possible.

Note: The JLPT Administration Committee is not responsible for any banking fees incurred via the transfer of funds or any loss of examination fees.

2. Cash
Payable at the counter of the Consular Office.
